September 14, 2019 – PROGRAM – Constitution Week with a visit from Mr. Madison. Charles Wissinger, local re-enactor, will talk about the Father of our Constitution, James Madison.
September 17, 2019 – Constitution Day – Memorializing the date that the Constitution was signed in 1787
October 12, 2019 – PROGRAM – “The Man Behind the Man: George Wythe, Mentor to the Founding Fathers”. Author Suzanne Munson will speak about Chancellor George Wythe. We will also collect items for the local Veteran’s Administration Hospital in support of our National Day of Service.
November 4, 2019 – Election Day
November 9, 2019 – PROGRAM – Veteran Ed Harris will talk about Caty Littlefield Greene, the woman behind Washington’s second in command, General Nathaniel Greene.
November 11, 2019 – Veteran’s Day – Commemorating all veterans of the US military
December 14, 2019 – PROGRAM – Tour of Tuckahoe Plantation; Boxed lunch to follow.
December 15, 2019 – Bill of Rights Day – Celebrating the addition of the Bill of Rights to the U.S. Constitution on that day in 1791
January 11, 2020 – PROGRAM – English Tea; The Colonial Garden – Co-Presidents of the Ginter Park Garden Club, Lee Lythgoe & Millie Proffitt, will describe what colonials grew in their gardens.
January 20, 2020 – Dr. Martin Luther King Day
February 15, 2020 – PROGRAM – George Washington’s Birthday Luncheon
February 17, 2020 – President’s Day, commemorating George Washington and Abraham Lincoln
March 21, 2020 – PROGRAM – “Long May She Wave- the Flag of the United States” and what everyone should know.
April 18, 2020 – PROGRAM – Insignia, with information about changes since NSDAR took over insignia operations.
May 9, 2020 – PROGRAM – Joint meeting with Richmond chapters, Nathanial Bacon and William Byrd; Guest speaker is the State Regent.
May 25, 2020 – Memorial Day – Commemorating men and women who have died serving the United States
June 14, 2020 – Flag Day – Commemorating the official adoption of the US flag by the Second Continental Congress in 1777
